Indian Culture

A public home for Indian art, dance, music, festivals, food, language, and spiritual traditions in Chile.

Indian culture is at the heart of everything IAS does. Each year the association brings Indian music, dance, food and festivals to Santiago, for the Indian community and for every Chilean friend who wants to join in.

What we celebrate

  • Indian Cultural Festival: with the Embassy of India, two days of art, music, dance, crafts and food from across India's states. The January 2025 edition brought together about 50 artists.
  • Holi: the festival of colours, with music, dancing and colour for families and friends.
  • Garba and Dandiya Night: an evening of Navratri dance, aarti and dinner, held with the support of the Embassy of India.
  • Diwali: the festival of lights, with performances by children and community members, Indian food and dancing.

Everyone is welcome, whether you grew up with these traditions or are discovering them for the first time. See what's coming up on the events page, or write to us if you'd like to perform, volunteer or help organise.
